1st Intercontinental Strategic Dialogue on Disinformation

Vienna, March 31, 2025

The 1st  Intercontinental Strategic Dialogue on Disinformation, held in Vienna on March 31, 2025, brought together diplomats to discuss how to effectively counter Russia’s  foreign information manipulation and interference.

With Opening Remarks by Jacek Sawicz, Permanent Mission of Poland to the UN in Vienna, and CoD Secretary General Mantas Adomėnas, the event featured a presentation of CoD publication on Russia’s Worldwide Information Manipulations on X and Telegram and Counter-FIMI Toolbox for Diplomats; panel discussion with participation of Dmytro Zolotukhin, Advisor to the Minister of Culture and Strategic Communication of Ukraine , Ana Robinson Fernandez, Information Threats Analysis Cell, Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office; and Ofer Fridman, Senior Lecturer, Department of War Studies, King’s College London, and closing remarks by H.E. Yurii Vitrenko, Ambassador, Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the UN and International Organisations.

As diplomats are often on the frontlines of combating false narratives and fostering truth in an increasingly contested digital space, the discussion aimed to provide a deeper understanding of Russia’s disinformation tactics and offer practical, actionable insights into how they can effectively address and counter the threat FIMI.

The event was organized by the CoD, in cooperation with the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Poland to the United Nations Office and the International Organizations in Vienna, Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the International Organizations in Vienna, and United Kingdom Delegation to the OSCE.
