38th Governing Council of the Community of Democracies

On June 11, 2024, representatives of CoD Governing Council Member States, civil society and youth gathered in Warsaw for the 38th meeting of the Governing Council.

The meeting is chaired by the United States of America, a Member of the CoD Executive Committee.

Agenda items included: strengthening collaboration on information integrity; considering a UN Special Rapporteur on Democracy; youth rights and democratic values; and CoD governance issues.

Welcome remarks were provided by:  Allison Peters, Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary, Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, & Labor, U.S. Department of State; and CoD Secretary General Thomas E. Garrett.
