

The third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion on Ukraine
Joint conference of the Community of Democracies and the Polish Senate

“Unjust war must be stopped – yet not in order to buy an impermanent and undignified peace at the price of further injustice” – underlined the Community of Democracies Secretary General dr. Mantas Adomenas at a conference held today by the Community of Democracies and the Polish Senate on the Third Anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. In his welcome remarks, the Secretary General invited Ukraine to start the process of assuming its rightful place among the free and democratic nations of the Community of Democracies.
The conference provided a platform for discussion among politicians, diplomats, and experts to reflect on Ukraine’s resilience and evaluate the impact of this prolonged conflict on regional and global security.
“Russia has decided to destroy the security architecture in Europe and to pursue its imperial interests. That is why we must all stand up for Ukraine, freedom and democracy. We must stand up for the values on which the entire civilized world is based” – said Vice-Marshal of the Polish Senate Rafał Grupiński as he opened the conference.
“During today’s meeting, we should look for solutions not only in terms of changes in our army, but also in terms of ensuring the security of our society in crisis situations” – underlined the Chairman of the National Defense Committee, senator Mirosław Różański who hosted the conference.
The discussion assessed the prospects of the war in 2025 and examined the roles of the international actors in supporting Ukraine, with welcome remarks by:
