CD-UNITED, a new initiative by the Community of Democracies provides co-funding assistance for projects that support democracy
October 11, 2013
Here is an exciting opportunity to turn your democracy-related ideas into reality! The Permanent Secretariat of the Community of Democracies, together with the U.S. Department of State, has created an initiative enabling countries to develop and co-finance projects carried out within its framework.
From now until December 1, 2013, interested countries can propose project whose total cost is between 10,000 and 80,000 USD. Your project could support one of the Community's Task Forces, Working Groups or other initiatives. The projects selected by the Community and the Department of State will be co-funded through a 1:1 cost share together with the U.S. Government, and will be implemented or sub-granted by the Community of Democracies.
CD-UNITED (Using New Investments To Empower Democracies) is one among many projects coordinated by the Community of Democracies in its vision of promoting action-oriented cooperation to support democracy. Member states of the Community who share this vision and wish to take an active step to augment the consolidation of democracy around the world, are welcome to contact the Permanent Secretariat of the Community with proposals for possible projects to be implemented under this plan.
