Launch of the Democracy & Security Final Report
Secretary General Thomas E. Garrett attended a launch of the Democracy & Security final report on September 13th at the Brookings Institution in Washington D.C.
Building democracy is never easy and is never fully accomplished. It is something to be worked toward, step by step, country by country, day by day” – highlighted Madeleine Albright at the launch of the “Liberal Democracy and the Path to Peace and Security” report, held on September 13th at the Brookings Institution in Washington D.C.
The report was developed as part of the Democracy and Security Dialogue, a year-long research project on the relationship between democracy and security. The final report as well as a series of policy briefs covering a range of security-related issues were commissioned by the Community of Democracies’ Permanent Secretariat and prepared by researchers with the Brookings Institution’s Foreign Policy program and the Institute for Security Studies.
