The Community of Democracies welcomes Mr. Nyaletsossi Clément Voule as the new UN Special Rapporteur on the rights to freedom of peaceful assembly and of association.

The rights of every person to freedom of peaceful assembly and association constitute one of the core principles enshrined in the Warsaw Declaration, the founding document of the Community of Democracies. Protection and fulfillment of these rights is fundamental to ensure pluralism and inclusion and to build strong and sustainable democracies.
As part of the Community of Democracies’ mission to advance and protect key democratic freedoms and values worldwide, the Community affirms its commitment to support Mr. Voule in his capacity as Special Rapporteur and looks forward to future cooperation.
