On April 16th, Secretary General Thomas E. Garrett met in Washington with Secretary General of Organization of American States (OAS) Luis Almagro and US Ambassador to OAS Carlos Trujillo to discuss democracy and the rule of law.

In 2018, CoD and OAS signed an agreement to strengthen cooperation for the promotion and consolidation of democracy.
