Statement regarding the presidential elections in El Salvador

The Community of Democracies congratulates the people and electoral authorities of El Salvador on the peaceful second round of presidential elections through a statement from its Working Group on Elections.
The Working Group's statement says: "This [the elections] demonstrates that El Salvador has consolidated and progressively strengthened its commitment with democracy following the signing of the Peace Accords of 1992".
