Ukraine Communications Group Holds Strategic Planning Session at the Permanent Secretariat of the Community of Democracies

The Permanent Secretariat of the Community of Democracies (PSCD) hosted the Strategic Planning Session of the Ukraine Communications Group (UCG), co-organized by the Community of Democracies and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Mariana Betsa, delivered an online address to participants, underscoring the importance of strengthening Ukraine’s voice on the global stage.

In her remarks, Deputy Minister Betsa highlighted the importance of engaging audiences across Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Asia, both to raise awareness about Russia’s ongoing aggression against Ukraine and to share truthful, factual information about war crimes committed by Russian forces.

“Strategic communications today have undoubtedly become one of the components of national security, countering propaganda and disinformation. We must make our voice heard louder and louder in every corner of the world. Ukraine is grateful to its partners, the members of the Group, for systematically strengthening Ukraine’s voice on the global stage, the voice of freedom. We hope that this support will continue and that the initiative will expand its circle of participants,” said Deputy Minister Betsa.

Launched in 2024, the Ukraine Communications Group brings together representatives of Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, more than 10 European countries, Canada, the European Union, and NATO to coordinate efforts in countering disinformation and propaganda. The Group focuses on priority issues including the protection of peace in line with the UN Charter, the restoration of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within internationally recognized borders, and the return of Ukrainian children illegally abducted by Russia.
