Youth Democracy Network

Open Call for Applications: Latin America and the Caribbean

October 22- November 1, 2024

Join the Youth Democracy Network

The Permanent Secretariat of the Community of Democracies is delighted to announce the first membership call for the global Youth Democracy Network (YDN), inviting young leaders from Latin America and the Caribbean to apply.

Join a dynamic global community of young leaders—including civil society activists and emerging politicians—united in their passion for promoting democracy, human rights, and fundamental freedoms. As a YDN member, you’ll gain access to mentorship, resources, and practical tools to amplify your impact in shaping decision-making processes.

Marking its official launch, YDN’s first regional meeting will take place in Panama City on December 5-6, 2024 (dates TBC). This two-day event will bring together YDN members from across Latin America and the Caribbean alongside local youth leaders from Panama. The program will include discussions on youth leadership, democracy, and governance, featuring a keynote address by a young Panamanian leader and a foresight workshop. Insights from the event will feed into a global democracy report to be presented at the Community of Democracies’ 25th anniversary in Warsaw, 2025. The meeting will be held in English.

Applications are open from October 22 – November 1, 2024 (midnight CET).
